As it’s rapidly approaching Father’s Day (which after Christmas and my birthday is my 3rd favourite day of the year) I decided to take up the challenge by Samsung and write an article about my fav TV dads…(why not movie dads?)

5 – Fred Flintstone – The Flintstones

Manages to stay happily married despite doing nothing around the house and going out bowling with Barney

4 – Frank Costanza- Seinfeld

Always ready to dish out advice even when it isn’t wanted…

3 – Peter Griffin – Family Guy

Somehow has failed to notice that his dog can talk and read the paper – something only a great Father would do!

2 – Homer Simpson- The Simpsons

Another cartoon dad, maybe being two dimensional helps?

1 – Tony Soprano – The Soprano’s

Managed to keep his family togther, despite all the death and mayhem around him. May have bumped off a few family members, but haven’t we all felt like doing that sometimes!

#GetWellTrav (update)

Great news about Trav, as he will make a return to in-ring action against Sha Samuels on September 7th for PCW!

The end of summer

Oh well, Autumn is here – the kids have already asked if we can put the heating on – so I thought I would cheer myself up by sharing my favourite summer picture of our holidays!

When I see pictures of me and Owen on the beach I always wonder if we should have moved there…

Royale with cheese

Movie soundtacks, don’t you just love ’em? Well I do – some of my favourite CD’s to play in the car are soundtrack ones!

Not only is Pulp Fiction one of my favourite films, but the music is just as awesome!

The soundtrack brings back old 1950s surf music in a new way. I am not a big fan of this genre, but this soundtrack captures its essence in a riveting way. The first song, “Pumpkin and Honey Bunny/Misirlou,” immediately gets your attention and pulls you in for the rest of the journey. One real highlight is “Girl, You’ll Be A Woman Soon.” Originally a Neil Diamond classic, Urge Overkill’s take on the song is a classic of its own.

When I meet friends that have never seen the film, I always insist that they come over and watch it on my big screen TV asap, I will convert them with the magic of John Travolta and Uma Thurman’s dancing!

Desk safari

The iMums & 10ZiG are running a cute ‘Desk Safari’ competition. To take part, change your computer desktop to an animal’s body, and stand behind it – snap a photo and stick it in a blog post before 3rd July 2014. The top prizewinner gets £100 Amazon vouchers and two runners up get £30 vouchers each.

Here’s my entry…of me as a meerkat!

This is our kitchen!

We used to have a narrow ‘galley’ type kitchen, but voluntary redundancy gave me a small lump sum of money that I would never be able to get again so we decided to spend it on doing up the kitchen.

No more would we sit in the dining room, completely seperate from whomever was cooking…

And the work surface doubles up as somewhere for the kids to play Lego 🙂

This is ‘wine cat’ – it is very important that she is never empty 😉

We do love a good slogan in our kitchen…

Although I don’t agree with all of them!

Whether it’s a normal evening meal or socialising with friends, having our kitchen opened up into the dining room was a great idea. Everyone who comes round loves it so we nearly always end up socialising at ours!

At the end of the day, this slogan sums it up best 🙂
